A coalition of 23 states sued the Trump administration on Tuesday over its decision to cut $11 billion in federal funds that go toward COVID-19 initiatives and various public health projects across the country. The lawsuit argues the cuts are illegal, and that the federal government did not provide "rational basis" or facts to support the cuts. The attorneys general say it will result in "serious harm to public health" and put states "at greater risk for future pandemics and the spread of otherwise preventable disease and cutting off vital public health services."
Novant Health is partnering with MedQuest Associates to take over 15 medical imaging locations in the Charlotte region from OrthoCarolina, Novant said Tuesday. This deal also includes three locations in the Piedmont Triad region.
Duke Health has completed the acquisition of Lake Norman Regional Medical Center and associated businesses in Mooresville, N.C. from Community Health Systems. The $284 million transaction included the 123-bed site that has now been renamed Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital, which offers services such as including 24-hour emergency care, labor and delivery, cardiology, surgical and orthopaedic care, and an outpatient imaging center.
