Community Health Systems, Inc. CHS announced its plans to sell four hospitals in Northwest Arkansas for $112 million. A subsidiary of the Tennessee-based company signed a definitive agreement with Freeman Health System of Joplin, Missouri, to sell most assets of four hospitals for $112 million. The hospitals includes the 128-bed Northwest Medical Center–Bentonville, the 222-bed Northwest Medical Center–Springdale, the 64-bed Northwest Medical Center–Willow Creek Women's Hospital, and the 73-bed Siloam Springs Regional Hospital, along with outpatient centers and practices. CHS noted that the agreement could still change based on the networking capital at closing and the amount of finance lease debt the buyer agrees to take on. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026 and is contingent on customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
