A follow-up state inspection of University of California-Irvine Medical Center to check whether the hospital had fixed previous problems has uncovered three additional areas of deficiency. The university received a letter from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services noting that it was out of compliance during the inspections on Oct. 15 and 16, the Los Angeles Times reports. The letter cites deficiencies in pharmacy, oversight, and quality assessment and performance. UC Irvine has until Jan. 18 to submit a plan for correction.
