For 25 years, the NCH Healthcare System has been in a leader in the Southwest Florida community for cardiac services. With that leadership role comes a responsibility to evolve and enhance their services and specialties.
To help lead NCH in this endeavor, the organization has announced that Dr. Robert Cubeddu, cardiologist, has joined the community healthcare system as the new President of the NCH Heart Institute.
This appointment is part of NCH’s strategy to expand its cardiovascular services to meet the needs of patients in the community and beyond.
Dr. Cubeddu is a Harvard Medical School trained world-renowned cardiologist and comes to NCH from Cleveland Clinic – Florida’s, Weston campus, where he has practiced since 2015. He brings a reputation of excellence and exemplary quality with excellent patient outcomes.
“Dr. Cubeddu’s patient experience scores are practically perfect, and his reputation and recruitment resources will establish NCH for growth. Our physicians are looking forward to his arrival,” said Paul Hiltz, President and CEO of NCH Healthcare System.
The NCH Heart Institute is the largest and most award-winning cardiac service in Collier County with Healthgrades naming NCH as one of America’s 100 best hospitals for cardiac care six years in a row.
The vision is for Dr. Cubeddu to take the NCH Heart Institute to the next level and create a healthcare destination of choice for patients in need of cardiac care from around the globe.
Dr. Cubeddu’s primary vision calls for developing a foundation built on quality patient outcomes while enhancing the patient experience. He believes that the key to providing an exceptional patient experience begins with collaborating with patients, families, and clinical teams for better health and wellness.
To that end, Dr. Cubeddu specializes in getting to know the patient and understanding their needs and expectations in order to better know how he can help them.
“In order for us to build the premier center for cardiology, we must first identify what needs to be improved, we must recruit top talent to the organization, we must also build a state-of-the-art campus and finally, we must build it all around the patient experience,” said Dr. Cubeddu.
One of Dr. Cubeddu’s top priorities is to empower physicians and staff with the tools they need to continue to provide high quality, personalized care to patients and build upon relationships that promote exceptional patient outcomes.
“I am excited by the opportunities we as a community, and we as a medical staff, have before us in continuing to promote the NCH Heart Institute as the cardiac health care provider of choice for our region, our state, our nation, and beyond,” said Dr. Kristin Mascotti, Chief Medical Officer at NCH.
“With a renewed focus on quality, community, growth and a promise to deliver an exceptional patient experience, together we will make it our mission to see to it that the NCH Heart Institute continues to ensure a healthy heart future so that everyone in our community lives a longer, happier, healthier life,” continued Mascotti.
Dr. Cubeddu is focused on strengthening relationships with referring providers for the benefit of enhancing the patient experience.
In addition to leading our cardiac team on quality outcome initiatives and growth, Dr. Cubeddu himself will continue to see patients and consult on complex cases like congenital heart disease and many other serious disease processes that effect the heart.
“At the NCH Heart Institute, we have a great opportunity for improvement in our journey to high reliability and delivering an exceptional patient experience, “said Mascotti. “Looking to the future, the NCH Heart Institute plans on, not only being the cardiac care provider of choice for local residents of SWFL, but the cardiac care provider of choice for the nation and beyond.”
“The NCH Heart Institute is already the number one destination for heart care in our region and we look forward to Dr. Cubeddu leading us to becoming a number one cardiac care destination around the nation and beyond,” said Hiltz.
