New mold has been discovered behind the wall of a patient room in UPMC Presbyterian hospital's medical intensive care unit, Pittsburgh's Action News 4 confirmed Wednesday. The discovery was made after some patients in the intensive care unit had already been moved from four ICU patient rooms which suffered some flooding both this Tuesday and Saturday, Nov. 21, due to a clogged drain. "Several patients in the affected rooms were safely moved, and their health was never endangered. Our facilities and infection control staff are following rigorous protocols to remediate this damage," spokeswoman Wendy Zellner said in an email.
