Maine lawmakers will consider a new bill that would limit Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents' access to schools, hospitals, and child care facilities at a public hearing, Thursday. LD 2106 would prohibit anyone acting on behalf of a Maine public school, health care facility, child care provider or public library from allowing federal immigration officers access without the use of a judicial warrant. The bill would also prevent those workers from giving immigration agents access to student, medical or library records.
