Mass General Brigham cancer APPs push for unionization

A group of clinicians at the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute is seeking to form a union. A group of "advanced practice providers," a category that includes physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other specialized nursing roles, filed a federal petition Thursday to hold a vote on whether to unionize. The petition came one day after the group formally requested that cancer institute leaders voluntarily recognize the union, which would become part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association, according to an association news release. The group did not receive a response, the state's largest union of nurses said.
