Carle tax trial, Day 10: Ex-CFO says merger as for-profit was considered

Before the former for-profit Carle Clinic was acquired by the Carle Foundation and began operating under the foundation's nonprofit umbrella, other options were considered, a Carle executive testified Tuesday. One of them was the idea of both the clinic and foundation operating on a for-profit basis, said Dennis Hesch, who was the chief financial officer of the clinic and then became CFO of the foundation after the April 2010 clinic purchase.
