Cooper demands additional $5M in Lourdes lawsuit

Cooper Health System and a rival hospital operator have raised the stakes in a court fight over a failed merger. Cooper, which initially sued to recover a $15 million deposit after ending a deal to acquire Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and two other hospitals, wants an additional payment of more than $5 million from the hospitals’ owner, Maxis Health System, court records show.
