HCA Healthcare announced plans to sell four Georgia hospitals to Piedmont Healthcare for $950 million Monday morning.

The four facilities that HCA is selling to the Atlanta-based health system include Eastside Medical Center, a 310-bed hospital in Snellville, Cartersville Medical Center, a 119-bed hospital in Cartersville, Coliseum Health System, which has two acute care hospitals, and Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health, a 40-bed inpatient behavioral health facility in Macon.

According to a company press release, the deal is expected to close by July 31, pending customary regulatory approvals.

"This is an exciting opportunity for Piedmont,” Kevin Brown, CEO of Piedmont, said in a statement. "HCA Healthcare has instilled a high standard of care into these facilities, and we are proud that they have trusted Piedmont to continue this legacy. We are committed to making a positive difference in every life we touch, and this means providing high-quality care that is seamlessly orchestrated. We look forward to further enhancing care across Georgia."
