Mass General Brigham faces major opposition in $2B expansion

Mass General Brigham wants to build five projects in Massachusetts, including a new office park at 2 Hill Street in Woburn — a massive outpatient surgery center complete with physician offices and imaging. But competitors say that an expansion of the state’s most-expensive health system would ultimately increase statewide health care spending and threaten community providers just as regulators attempt to prevent both.
