While the Miami-Dade County mayor rejected a cash bailout at Jackson Health System, Jackson's chief executive said she is working hard to finalize the details of a restructuring plan to lessen the $229 million loss anticipated for this fiscal year. On the day before the release of a much-anticipated audit, Chief Executive Eneida Roldan said specifics will not be available until early next month, but 413 staff positions will be cut, she said. About 100 are now vacant. The others will be primarily management jobs cut by slimming down departments. Another 500 cuts will come from cutting services in areas that are still to be determined, the Miami Herald reports.
