Methodist Health System buying Southlake hospital

Methodist Health System in Dallas has reached a deal to buy the physician-owned, financially struggling Forest Park Medical Center in Southlake out of bankruptcy for $17.6 million. Methodist made the exclusive offer for the hospital on Friday, the same day it was fighting in another Fort Worth bankruptcy court to buy Forest Park Medical Center in Fort Worth. The sales are part of the unwinding of a debt-ridden chain of upscale hospitals that collapsed last year.
