Mount Sinai Health System Appoints New CFO

Niyum Gandhi has served as chief population health officer at the New York-based system since 2015.

Mount Sinai Health System announced the appointment of Niyum Gandhi as chief financial officer (CFO) Tuesday morning.

Gandhi has served as chief population health officer at the New York-based system since 2015, a role he will continue to oversee in addition to his new capacity as CFO.

Gandhi will replace Mount Sinai's longtime CFO Michael Scanlon, who will retire by the end of the year, according to a press release.

Kenneth L. Davis, MD, CEO of Mount Sinai, commended Scanlon for his leadership and praised Gandhi's role as a "trusted and innovative leader" at the system.

“[Gandhi] has developed and successfully implemented a new revenue strategy for our system that has resulted in improved value for the patients we serve," Davis said in a statement. "As CFO, Niyum will lead our overall financial strategy to ensure our continued innovation and growth. His broad health care and financial acumen will help us meet challenges head on as the health care industry continues to evolve.”

Before joining Mount Sinai, Gandhi was a partner at Oliver Wyman, a New York-based global management consulting firm.
