Piedmont out of network for UnitedHealthcare after contract expires

A contract between UnitedHealthcare and Piedmont Healthcare expired at midnight June 30. As of Friday, Piedmont's health facilities are out of network for UnitedHealthcare policyholders. This means that patients with a United commercial health plan may have to pay more out-of-pocket costs or travel further for healthcare services outside of Piedmont, Piedmont Healthcare posted on its website.
