San Francisco Trauma Recovery Center saved, for now

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's administration had recommended the city's Trauma Recovery Center be shut down within months to save $347,529 and help keep this year's city budget balanced. But he has agreed to a reprieve for the center after a push from San Francisco supervisors and community advocates. The Trauma Recovery Center, which is connected to San Francisco General Hospital, serves more than 700 patients a year.
