CT AG asks HHS to probe United Healthcare

Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen is asking federal regulators to scrutinize what he calls UnitedHealthcare's decision to drop a large number of doctors from its Medicare Advantage Plan network in the state. Jepsen sent a letter Wednesday to the federal Department of Health and Human Services asking for the review. Jepsen says reports surfaced last month that UnitedHealthcare next year will begin dropping a significant number of doctors from its Medicare Advantage Plan, and he's concerned consumers will be harmed. He says some affected doctors already have received termination notices.
