Dr. Jeff Terry is a urologist practicing in Mobile, so there's not much chance he will ever encounter a patient suffering from a V95.41 - spacecraft crash injuring occupant. But when the medical industry updates its coding system in October, that code will be one of almost 70,000 his office staff will have to wade through to submit claims for medical billing - up from just 16,000 today. Last week, Terry testified before the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee about the ICD-10, the new coding system scheduled to take affect on Oct. 1. It is the tenth version of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems.
