Prime Healthcare is a “legitimate” suitor for St. Francis Health, Gov. Sam Brownback said Wednesday, adding that the ailing Topeka hospital should now be able to stay open. But Prime Healthcare and SCL Health, St. Francis’ Colorado owners, have a contentious history when it comes to closing deals, as evidenced by federal court filings in 2013.
