4 NYC hospitals fail test measuring infections, safety measures

Four New York City hospitals got failing grades in a new report card measuring infections and other safety measures. Elmhurst Hospital and St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, both in Queens, as well as Maimonides and Interfaith hospitals in Brooklyn all received Fs for issues including dangerous objects left in the body after surgery, wounds splitting open, bed sores and falls, according to the report by the non-profit Leapfrog Group.
