Shopko bankruptcy puts 146 pharmacies in play for CVS, Walgreens and Kroger

News this week that retailer Shopko was filing for bankruptcy protection puts another 146 pharmacies for sale as part of a plan to exit the prescription business, the retailer confirmed Friday. Staying in the pharmacy business isn’t part of the financial turnaround plan for Shopko, a Green Bay, Wis.-based retailer that operates more than 360 stores in 26 states, executives said this week.
