Nurses at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, said changes are coming to the hospital's midwifery services, including staffing cuts, adjusting working hours, and capping deliverers.
Ascension Borgess has seven midwives on staff, that could soon be cut down to three. Midwives on staff said the hospital told them the cuts are due to COVID-19 financial hardships and decreasing national birth rates.
