Pa. DHS 'extremely worried' about cyberattack that froze national medical billing system

The state's Department of Human Services (DHS) is advising health care providers of an alternative way of filing Medicaid claims after the Change Healthcare cyberattack. Many hospitals, doctors, nursing homes, and other providers have found themselves unable to file for payments after the Feb. 21 ransomware attack on Change, which is owned by UnitedHealth Group and is one of the nation’s largest electronic clearinghouses for processing healthcare claims.
