Nurses shine light on low wages, vacancies at Northern Light hospital

Nurses and technicians from at the Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth organized a vigil on Tuesday evening to draw attention to staffing vacancies they say undermine patient safety. The registered nurses union has been in contract negotiations with the hospital since May, while medical technicians, who unionized in 2017, are bargaining their first contract.
