Survey of providers shows big and imminent need for nursing workforce

More than 3,900 nursing-related job vacancies are expected in Vermont between now and spring of 2020, according to a new survey of health care providers. The survey, conducted by Vermont Talent Pipeline Management, also shows that only 26 percent of those positions are projected to be new jobs. The remainder will be “replacement hires” because of retirements and nurses leaving their jobs.
