Thousands of nursing jobs available in SC, advocates offer solution to fix shortage

WYFF News 4 Investigates surveyed more than 50 nurses who work at facilities around the Upstate and asked them about their jobs. Many said it's the large number of patients that a single nurse is assigned to on a shift that can make the job so challenging. "Safely you can only take care of a certain number of patients. Because of the shortage of nurses, sometimes it's difficult for there to be a good answer to that," said Jason Burgess, an ICU nurse in the Upstate.
