The FDA on Tuesday announced 26-year agency veteran Richard Pazdur will replace a top regulator who resigned earlier this month amid accusations of abusing his power. Pazdur will be the director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). Pazdur's appointment comes just more than a week after former CDER Director George Tidmarsh resigned. Pazdur is the founding director of the FDA's Oncology Center of Excellence. He will retain that role until his successor is named.
