AMA, key backer of healthcare law, looks into reboot

The American Medical Association, a key supporter of federal health care overhaul legislation when it passed Congress two years ago, may push for major revisions that include tort reform and a way to remedy how doctors are paid by the Medicare program. The AMA's policy-making House of Delegates meets starting this weekend for its annual meeting in Chicago to endorse positions on science, public health and, perhaps most importantly, to set its lobbying agenda for the future.
