Another Maine hospital is trying to reinvent itself after suffering hard times

After several years of significant financial losses and a recent low hospital grading, officials at Pen Bay Medical Center are hoping a small surplus and the expansion of services will help move the hospital forward. Pen Bay Medical Center, which is operated by the Coastal Healthcare Alliance, ended fiscal year 2018 with a surplus of about $80,000.
