Around 100 layoffs looming at Ventura County Medical Center

County supervisors will be asked Tuesday to eliminate 137 positions that are vacant or unfunded in the Ventura County Health Care Agency, a precursor to layoffs coming down at the end of the month. The move gives hiring managers a more accurate idea of how many positions actually exist so they're not advertising jobs that could disappear in a layoff, officials said.
