Bed plan at downtown Utica hospital to follow trends

Deciding how many patient beds to put into a new hospital is a complicated issue. After studying historic patient volumes, trends in patient care and local population projections, and after checking in with its consulting firm, the Mohawk Valley Health System chose 373 as the magic number for beds in its proposed downtown Utica hospital.
