Thirty-two physicians and executives have been indicted for schemes to submit more than $16 million in false Medicare claims, the federal government announced. The indictments were part of an effort led by the Medicare Fraud Strike Force in Houston. Individuals were arrested in Houston, New York, Boston, and Louisiana while Strike Force agents executed 12 search warrants at healthcare businesses and homes across the Houston area. A month ago, 61 people were indicted for allegedly submitting more than $150 million in false claims.
