Employees feel blindsided by mass layoffs at Mee Memorial Hospital in King City

Forty-three people were let go from Mee Memorial Hospital Friday. Hospital administration says this is due to finances and over staffing. “We met with each one of them individually or called them if they weren’t here,” explained Michael Hutchinson, the CEO of Mee Memorial Hospital. “There were no layoffs for the registered nurses, physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants. But for other departments it was across the board in the hospital and the clinics.”
