Fletcher Allen Health Care plans to change its name this fall to The University of Vermont Medical Center as part of a branding strategy approved by the Fletcher Allen Partners and University of Vermont boards. Fletcher Allen President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. John Brumsted said in a statement the name change reflects Fletcher Allen's teamwork with the University of Vermont and other partners, "today and for the months and years to come." Fletcher Allen Partners, established in January 2012 to develop a more coordinated system of care in the region, includes four hospitals: Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington; Central Vermont Medical Center in Barre; CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown, N.Y.
