Florida governor announces 30-day stay-home order for entire state

Gov. Ron DeSantis is ordering Floridians to stay at home for 30 days beginning at midnight Thursday, a decision that came after weeks of facing pressure to lock down the state to fight coronavirus. Florida had been the only state with more than 5,000 cases without such an order, with DeSantis insisting that localized orders for South Florida and by individual cities and counties were sufficient.
