Florida hospital's executives get dramatic pay hikes

Lakeland (FL) Regional Medical Center's board has taken dramatic steps to increase salaries and bonuses for hospital executives, including awarding the hospital's chief executive a 27% increase one year. Four years ago, LRMC's board of directors pledged to increase compensation for the hospital's top executives after a national consulting firm determined their pay was low in relation to comparable hospitals and health systems. Now, Internal Revenue Service figures show the board made good on its pledge.
