Daniel Knell, who became the Bartow Regional Medical Center's CEO in March 2010, has left the position to focus on special projects for Health Management Associates, Bartow Regional's parent company. HMA had used Knell as a troubleshooter for other HMA hospitals during his less than 18 months at Bartow Regional, according to two members of the hospital's advisory board.
