Parkland Hospital slashes 300 jobs amid budget cuts

Parkland Memorial Hospital will lay off 108 employees and cut 200 more unfilled jobs this week amid falling revenue from Dallas County and the federal government. The public hospital has 12,256 employees, so the cuts account for 2.4 percent of the workforce. About 87 percent of the departures are non-clinical workers, officials said.
