Sen. Kennedy: La. may have 'wasted' $200M on Medicaid

U.S. Sen. John Kennedy said he believes Louisiana may have misspent $200 million on ineligible Medicaid recipients and described the state health department as a "dumpster fire" and its secretary as "incompetent." The Louisiana Department of Health sent letters earlier this month to about 37,000 Medicaid recipients informing them they may be removed from the program after a new computer program determined their income exceeded eligibility levels.
