Shuffling in High Point (NC) mirrors larger trend of doctors joining hospital groups

A recent shuffling among medical practices in High Point mirrors a larger trend of more doctors joining hospital-owned groups, and also shows that those transitions can get messy. This week, High Point Regional Health welcomed 21 doctors formerly part of Cornerstone Health Care to UNC Regional Physicians, the High Point hospital's physician group. It was a big boost to Regional Physicians, which along with the physicians gained 10 mid-level providers, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants, along with 150 employees spread across six practice locations. With the addition of those 31 doctors and other providers, Regional Physicians now has 110 total providers, making this one move perhaps its biggest expansion since it was formed.
