Things must be going well in a partnership between UNC Health Care and Pardee Hospital. Nearly two years into its management agreement, the Chapel Hill health care system and hospital in Hendersonville announced they would extend their agreement from 10 years, as originally negotiated, to 25 years. There are few changes in the agreement, and UNC Health Care will continue to receive a $180,000 annual management fee. Henderson County continues to own the hospital and land. The new memorandum of understanding, which will lay the groundwork for the long-term agreement, gives UNC Health Care greater direct involvement with Pardee's clinical, business and financial operations.
