Union Hospital, LifeBridge end merger talks

After nearly a year of negotiations and analysis, Union Hospital and LifeBridge Health announced Tuesday that they are ending their attempt at a merger. Leaders of Cecil County’s only hospital announced their plans to merge with LifeBridge, a Baltimore-based health care system that operates three hospitals in or near the city, in mid-January, but in a joint statement said “leaders at both organizations feel that it is best to continue as separate entities.”
