Of the more than 2,600 acute care hospitals scored in The Leapfrog Group's spring 2019 hospital safety grades, there were just nine that received an "F," placing them in the bottom 1% of hospitals scored.
Less than one-third (32%) of hospitals secured an "A" grade. More than a quarter (26%) earned a "B." Leapfrog gave a "C" to another 36% and a "D" to 6% of hospitals.
This list is significantly shorter than the 17 hospitals that earned "F" grades in Leapfrog's fall 2018 announcement. Only two of these nine received an "F" last fall:
