Nursing Ranks, Employment Growing
The number of licensed registered nurses nationwide grew 5% over a four-year period ending in 2008. That year 85% of licensed RNs were employed in nursing, the highest rate of nursing employment since the federal Health Resources and Services Administration started its surveys in 1977.
