Most participants reported a preference for telemedicine visits during the pandemic and continue to prefer telemedicine visits at a 12% higher rate post-pandemic.
The program was open to all 145 school districts in the state, and 100 signed up. Of those 100, data shows only 34 districts had at least one visit in the 2022-23 school year.
Researchers found that, among cancer patients with private insurance, those living in states that did not provide coverage parity or payment parity were less likely to use telehealth in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
