Hennepin County, MN: Health plan too risky

Hennepin County, MN, commissioners, nervous that a new healthcare program for the indigent could make their hospital a statewide safety net, voted to reject the state's contract for the program and instead negotiate terms that put the county at less risk. The program is called the Coordinated Care Delivery System, and is scheduled to begin June 1. State officials want participating hospitals to return contracts by May 1, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
