Hepatitis C patient upset with hospital over legal tactics

The legal tussle between the state and Exeter Hospital has rubbed at least one patient the wrong way. Peter Sokol of Seabrook says he has been frustrated since learning earlier this summer that he was one of the 32 patients infected with hepatitis C in relation to the outbreak at the hospital. Sokol said he is focused on two things: his treatment and learning more about how he and the other patients were infected with hepatitis C. The former will likely start in January. Sokol believes the latter of his focuses is being slowed by the hospital taking the state to court over the state seeking broad access to the hospital's medical records. The case is scheduled to go before a Merrimack Superior Court on Wednesday, but it's unknown if a ruling will be issued that day.
