South Miami Hospital to pay $12M to settle false claims allegations

The settlement was announced Wednesday by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of South Florida. The settlement stems from allegations involving procedures and studies performed by Dr. John R. Dylewski since at least 2007 at South Miami Hospital. According to the amended complaint, Dylewski treated thousands of patients that were subjected to "invasive, improper, unjustified, medically unnecessary" procedures to treat cardiac arrhythmias.
