Michigan governor creates panel to deal with reforms

Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm said that the nation's new health insurance reform law is being bashed by people who don't understand it, or seek to mislead the public for political gain. To help the state understand the law, Granholm signed an order creating a panel of state officials to analyze and implement a law she said will improve healthcare for millions of state residents. The Health Insurance Reform Coordinating Council is to be chaired by the director of the Michigan Department of Community Health. The eight-member board is to include other state department directors and the state budget director.
