Bellevue Hospital ER reopens to patients with non-critical injuries

Bellevue Hospital's emergency room has reopened its doors to patients with non-critical and non-traumatic injuries, but still won't be fully functional until Februrary, officials said Thursday. The announcement comes nearly two months after the hospital was evacuated on October 31 when it lost power in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. It has struggled to reopen fully after the storm damaged much of the hospital's basement and some of the facility's equipment.
